New! Wildlife in Northern Botswana

Lebala Camp, Kwando Concession, Northern Botswana - July 2026

A private trip to the part of Botswana north of the famous Okavango Delta, where the terrain is basically dry, a mixture of forests, thickets and grasslands. We stayed 6 nights as Kwando's excellent Lebala Camp. We were fortunate as there was a pack of Wild Dogs denning in the area, and we visited the den on a number of occasions - actually two dens as they moved den during our stay. It was fascinating to see all the behaviour of the pups and adults, particularly when the adults return to the den after hunting. We also had a pride of Lions with tiny cubs which kept them anchored in a certain area, and therefore quite easy to find. As with the dogs, we had a number of visits watching the cubs playing and interacting with the adults.

My thanks to Safari Consultants for organising such a wonderful visit.
