New! South Luangwa National Park, Zambia

Kaingo Camp, Shenton Safaris, South Luangwa National Park, Zambia - September 2026

The first part of an extensive tour in Zambia took us to South Luangwa National Park. At the height of the dry season the mighty winding Luangwa River is one of the few sources of water left, attracting huge numbers of prey animals and their predators. We had a number of memorable encounters at the river itself, with thousands of Hippos and hundreds of Nile Crocodile. With predators we saw a number of Leopards, witnessed Lions taking down Cape Buffalo, and visited a Wild Dog den twice. Kaingo Camp is ideally located on the river bank, in one of the most game-rich areas of the whole park.
