New! Ethiopian Wolves
Bale Mountains National Park, Ethiopia - May 2026
A group trip with Natures Images to the Webb Plateau in Bale Mountains National Park. At about 11000ft (3300m) this is one of the highest places in Africa! The nights and early mornings were very cold, often around freezing. We stayed seven nights in a mobile tented camp and each day went out in 4x4 vehicles to find and photograph the world's rarest canid, the Ethiopian Wolf. We found them on every game drive, four different packs in total. On a number of occasions we saw amazing behaviour where the wolves licked the sweet nectar from red-hot poker flowers, and in doing so helped pollenate the plants!
My thanks to Natures Images for arranging and running a very successful trip.
