We had 10 full days in the field looking for Pumas. Puma photography in Chile is different from other big cat photography - whilst we accessed the vicinity of each cat by 4x4 vehicle, once nearby, you get out of the vehicle and all photography is done on foot! It is amazing to be walking around with these large predators! Pumas come in a variety of colours, varying from golden hues, through fawn to completely grey, and we saw mixture of all these tones. On the first few days there was snow on the ground, making for some wonderful opportunities of cats in the snow. Then a thaw set in, and for the remainder of the visit the pumas were blending in with their habitat.
