This was a private trip with 7 nights on board Bluewater Adventures newest ship Island Solitude. The vessel is perfectly designed for cruising in the coastal waters of British Columbia's Inside Passage looking for wildlife. The first two full days were marked by continuous heavy rainfall, although that didn't stop us enjoying some wonderful brown bear encounters in Mussel Inlet. Mercifully the weather then improved and we had beautiful sunny days. We had further good bear encounters in Khutz Inlet (brown bears) and on Gribbell Island (black bears), although the highlight of the trip for me was an amazing wolf encounter on a sandy beach! We also enjoyed some good sightings of whales - humpbacks on numerous occasions, fin whales and orcas.
