Wildlife Worldwide's "Festival of Wildlife" this year came to Malaysian Borneo, and was held for six days at the superb Borneo Rainforest Lodge in the Danum Valley. Here the variety of wildlife and the photographic challenges were truly mind-boggling - ranging from small bugs through to huge Orangutans! And the challenges didn't end there - many animals were in super dense foliage or high up in the trees. Others were nocturnal, they needed to be found and photographed in the dark. For me the primates were the stars of the show - numerous wild Orangutans, photogenic Red Langurs and the amazing gremlin-like Western Tarsier!
Then on an extension to the Festival, a small group travelled to the Kinabatangan River and finally to Sepilok. Both destinations were superb, and complimented Danum Valley with many different species - particularly the Proboscis Monkeys and the Pygmy Elephants.
